# Does a background check affect my credit score?

Short answer: Nope!

A Vetty background check only uses your credit header; basic stuff like your name, past addresses, and date of birth. It’s a soft pull, which means it *won’t* affect your credit score and *won’t* show up as an inquiry on your report.

That’s it. No score changes, no surprises, just simple identity confirmation. So you can breathe easy!
