Why did I receive an email from Virtru?

Using Virtru - what it is and how to access the encrypted email.

Vetty is committed to protecting all user and company related data and complying with all relevant privacy and data protection regulations. 

During the background check process, it may be necessary for the Vetty team to contact you or our clients via email. If the email contains any sensitive information or sensitive attachments, we will secure the email using Virtru.

Once received, you can follow the steps below to access the secured email: 

  1. Click the "Unlock Message" button in the email you received. This will open a new tab.
  2. Verify your Identity by selecting or entering your email address. You may be able to use a sign in method like Google Sign in or be able to sign in with a one time verification link. Choose the method which works best for you.
    1. Only the receivers of the email will be able to access this email. If you do forward this email, the new recipient will not be able to access the secure message. 
    2. If you didn't receive the one time verification link- First, check your spam, junk, and/or promotions folders. If the verification email is not there within 10 minutes, it may be stuck in external quarantine or a spam filter. See here for troubleshooting from the Virtru help center
  3. View the email, and attachments and reply securely. 
    *Note: if the request is to fill a document, and you wish to not supply it via email, you may log into your Vetty profile at applicant.vetty.co and upload into your Documents section. See here on how to upload a document into your profile.
