How to Create an API Key for a Third-Party Integration
So, you’re ready to make Vetty and another platform become besties? Love that for us.
Many of our partners have already built their own integrations straight into Vetty—though fair warning, each partner may do things a little differently. If anything feels unclear, it’s always a good idea to check in with that partner directly.
The good news? Generating an API key in Vetty is always the same, no matter who you’re linking arms with. Here’s how to do it:
-
Head to Settings in your Vetty dashboard.
-
Click into the API Management tab.
-
Select Add New User Key.

-
Choose a Client User.
-
Enter an IP Address. (This varies by partner—your partner will know which one you need.)
- Note: 0.0.0.0 can be used, but requests from any IP address will be accepted. For a more secure configuration, add the specific server IP address from which your API calls will be made
-
Set an Expiration Date.
-
Pro tip: we recommend 24 months.
-
-
Hit Add. Boom. Done.
Your freshly minted API key will appear in the API Management System table.
-
Single-click any key to copy it to your clipboard.
-
Need to clean house? Delete a key anytime by tapping the red trash can icon.
Is your API Key Expiring?
No problem! Follow the steps outlined above to create a new key. Then, Single-click any key to copy it to your clipboard and paste it into your 3rd party platform and save
Adding a Web Hook
