How do I dispute the results of my background check?

Spotted something on your background check that doesn’t look right? Take a breath—we can fix that. You have the right to dispute any inaccurate information, and Vetty makes the process simple, transparent, and totally in your control.

How to Submit a Dispute Through Vetty

  1. Log into your Vetty Profile: https://applicant.vetty.co/login

  2. In your dashboard, open the dropdown next to the Check that contains the item you want to dispute.

  3. Click Dispute next to the specific case.

  4. Share a brief explanation of why you’re disputing the information.

    1. You can upload legal or supporting documents if you have them (optional but helpful!).

  5. Confirm that all information you provided is true and accurate.
  6. Click Save to submit.
  7. Close the confirmation box and repeat for any additional items you want to dispute.

What Happens Next?

Once you submit a dispute, Vetty’s Disputes Team is automatically notified. They’ll review your case and respond within 30 days.

  • If the information is inaccurate, your background check report will be updated.

  • If the original information is verified as correct, the report will remain unchanged.
