      What are various Statuses of a Screening in Vetty?

      Read more about the meaning of each status found in Vetty

      The statuses within Vetty are color coordinated for ease of use. Please see below to learn more about each status. 
      • Pending Candidate: 
        • Vetty is waiting for the candidate to fill in their information (Legal Name, Address, Date of Birth, Social Security Number, etc.) and sign the authorization forms for the background check. We cannot begin the background check until all authorization forms and disclosures are submitted and viewed. 
      • In Progress: 
        • The background check has started. Vetty is now gathering information from many different sources to run the background check. 
      • Information Received:
        • The background check results are back for this particular check and we have not yet released the results of this check to you.
        • For candidates: Candidates will only see the Information Received status for all checks until the entire report is completed. 
      • Clear: 
        • There were either no results found for the particular screening or no results that are reportable under the FCRA were found. 
      • Complete: 
        • This status can be found next to Social Security Trace and National Criminal Checks. This status is used when the check is only used as pointer data.  It is marked complete to let you know that this has been completed. 
          • Pointer data means that this information is used as information for other screenings. For example- SSN trace information provides alias names, dob and address history. This helps us know where to search for potential criminal information.
      • Review Needed:
        • There was a discrepancy or a charge found that we would like the client (with the correct permissions) to review. This is not a recommendation for a hiring decision. This lets our clients know that there is something to look at in this section. 
          • Regarding license, education and employment verifications: If there are any discrepancies between what was entered by the candidate and what was found by the source, it will be marked Review Needed. Ex: Expiration date listed as Jan 2026 and source shows Feb 2026, this will be marked for client review. 
      • Reviewed:
        • Someone from the client team has looked at the Review Needed results and decided that this "Meets Hiring Criteria." This moves the check from Review Needed to Reviewed. 
        • This also moves the candidate into the "Ready for Onboarding" section.
      • No Records:
        • This status only applies to the SSN Trace. This is common for people who are young (under 25) or have a recently issued SSN Number.
        • The SSN database uses SSN information from the credit bureaus. If no records are found, this means that the SSN Trace database did not find anything in this candidate's credit header. As a result, Vetty could not verify the candidate's social security number, date of birth or aliases. This does not mean it is Invalid, just that we found no records.
      • Unable to Verify:
        • This status is used when we were unable to obtain results for this item. 
        • To rectify this, you can email us at support@vetty.co with additional documentation or questions as to what may be needed to change this result. 
      • Pre-Adverse Action: 
        • This is when a candidate had a something that was Review Needed and it did not meet hiring criteria. This indicates that a user had sent a pre-adverse action letter to let the candidate know that they will not be hired them due to something found on the background check. The candidate has 7 days to dispute the findings of Vetty's background check. 
      • Adverse Action: 
        • This is the final status used when not hiring someone due to adverse information found on their background check. When this is shown, a final notification has been sent to the candidate that explaining that they will not be hired due to background check findings. 
        • Vetty will send users (with permissions) an alert when 7 days have passed from when the Pre-Adverse Action letter was sent to notify that they can now send the adverse action letter. 
      • Fulfilled By Employer:
        • This is used when employers use Vetty's system for health scheduling, but their internal clinics handle the results. This item was fulfilled by the employer and Vetty is not aware of the status as that was completed internally by the company.
