Why is my Social Security Number showing No Records?
If you're checking your Vetty profile and wondering why your Social Security Number (SSN) Trace came back with zero results, no worries — we can explain. (And no, it doesn’t mean you’ve slipped into an alternate dimension or suddenly stopped existing. Promise.)
Where SSN Trace Info Comes From
Vetty, like all background screening providers, gets SSN Trace info from databases that use credit history to match your name, date of birth, addresses, and any former names or aliases tied to your SSN.
A couple of important notes:
-
This is a soft pull, so it will not affect your credit score.
-
If you haven't established credit yet, these databases simply won’t have much (or anything!) to report.
If You See “No Records,” Here’s Why
Seeing “No Records” is totally normal in a few situations:
-
You’re under 25 and haven’t built credit yet.
-
Your Social Security Number was recently issued.
-
You simply haven’t had activity that hits credit-based databases.
All totally valid.
Think Something’s Off? We’ve Got You
If you believe the "No Records" result was an error, we can re-run it! Just choose one of these options:
1. Re-enter your SSN securely: Email us at support@vetty.co and let us know you'd like to re-enter your SSN. We’ll issue a No Records exception, which unlocks the SSN field so you can type it in again.
2. Upload a copy of your SSN card: Head to your Vetty profile → Documents section → Upload your card securely.
Once you’ve updated your info, our team will re-run the trace. If we find new results, we’ll pop them into your file.
